The Quest for Innocence
Seeking Truth Beyond History's Catalogue of Despair, Without Labels or Names
Where have you brought me to life? What is this place?
By god, I’ve read the history books, a catalogue of despair, death, and suffering.
Why do we exist? Where are we and where are we going?
Do we live merely to die? To wander aimlessly, seeking pleasure
And avoiding pain, wherever we may find it?
There are those who wallow in pleasure
There are those who wallow in pain
There are people spouting truths
Politicians lying through their teeth.
What is this, this existence, which marks everyone
Who is born into this plane of existence?
I must come back to myself for some kind of reference
For I trust no one.
I love
My love is fragmented
Emotions crash and thunder within our flesh form
Mind is full of wonder, puzzlement, question, doubt
Sometimes content to just observe.
To look without naming what we see
And to see what exists, without language
Without labels attaching themselves
To see the world with innocent eyes!
