Using the rebellious, democratic spirit of historical pirates as a lens to critique systemic piracy in the 21st century, the album journeys from the executive suites of the New Buccaneers down to the algorithmic sweatshops Below Decks, before erupting in mutiny and drafting an egalitarian New Code.
Captain Samuel "Black Sam" Bellamy—the 18th-century pirate democrat who championed an egalitarian code against the wealthy merchants he branded "rascals"—serves as the moral anchor, reminding us that the true pirates wear bespoke suits and hide behind corporate ledgers.
