Reflection
Within the Walls of Memory: Walking Out of Frozen Rain into Personal Freedom
Within the walls of memory
The shadows of the past
I walk outside, looking out,
The world is changing fast
From early years, ‘til present day
The reactive painful view
That lingers on, like frozen rain
Touching all that I must do
Communicating what it is
No easy task I see
For each must walk in their own shoes
Until they can be free
The words on paper can’t transmit
Except in clumsy way
What one wants to articulate
To melt the past away.
